Optimizing the coaxiality of the motor shaft and the input shaft of the SCWS225-40-F worm gear reducer requires precise alignment and adjustment. The specific steps are as follows:


1. Preparation before installation

  1. ‌Basic Check‌

  • Ensure that the installation base is flat and firm, and the anchor bolts are pre-tightened evenly to avoid axis deviation caused by foundation deformation.

  • Use a level to check the levelness of the reducer installation surface, and the error must be ≤0.05mm/m.

  • ‌Shaft end cleaning‌

  • Clean the oil stains and burrs on the end faces of the motor shaft, reducer input shaft and coupling connection parts to prevent impurities from affecting the alignment accuracy.


2. Coupling alignment method

  1. ‌Dial indicator measurement method (recommended)

    a. Fix the dial indicator on the motor shaft or reducer input shaft, and measure the radial/axial runout of the outer circle and end face of the coupling:

    ‌Radial runout‌ : The difference between the maximum and minimum readings in the circumferential direction of the outer circumference of the coupling is ≤0.05mm.

    Axial runout‌ : The axial offset of the coupling end face is ≤0.02mm.

    b. When adjusting the position of the motor or reducer, first adjust the axial height through the spacer, and then fine-tune the lateral offset.

  2. ‌Laser alignment instrument (high-precision scene )

  • A laser alignment instrument is used to monitor the deviation of the two axes in real time, and the software guides the adjustment with an accuracy of ±0.01mm.


3. Adjustment steps

1‌.Initial rough adjustment‌

  • Loosen the motor anchor bolts, manually move the motor to make the coupling clearance even, and initially align the axis.

2. Precision fine-tuning

a. According to the dial indicator reading, adjust in the following ways:

  • ‌Radial deviation‌ : Move the motor base laterally or adjust the thickness of the gasket.

  • ‌Axial deviation‌ : Increase or decrease the shim set at the bottom of the motor or reducer to control the height difference.

b. Retest after each adjustment until the runout value reaches the standard.

3. Final tightening‌

  • After the alignment is completed, tighten the anchor bolts in stages in diagonal order to avoid unilateral stress deformation.


4. Verification and Maintenance

  1. ‌No-load trial operation‌

  • After starting, monitor the vibration and noise. Abnormal vibration (>4.5mm/s) requires re-centering.

  • The temperature rise of the bearing should be ≤40℃, and the coaxiality should be retested after 1 hour of continuous operation.
