Here are some cases that may cause the output shaft of the BLD16-17-18.5KW cycloid reducer to be deformed:

  • Overload operation : Excessive torque, such as sudden load change, start-up impact, overload protection failure, etc., will cause the torsional stress of the output shaft to exceed the yield strength of the material, resulting in the shaft bending or deformation. For example, when the equipment driven by the reducer suddenly becomes stuck and the motor continues to output power, it may cause the output bearing to be subjected to excessive torque.

  • Installation concentricity error : The motor and reducer are not assembled, and the output shaft will bear radial forces from the input end of the reducer. This radial force will force the output shaft to bend and deform for a long time, and the bending direction will continue to change as the output shaft rotates. The greater the concentricity error, the faster the output shaft will deform.

  • Frequent start and stop : During the acceleration and deceleration process, if the instantaneous torque received by the reducer's output shaft exceeds twice its rated output torque, and this acceleration and deceleration are too frequent, the output shaft will be frequently subjected to greater stress shocks, which may cause fatigue deformation or even fracture of the shaft in the long run.

  • Bearing problems : Bearing worn, improperly installed or damaged will cause unstable support of the output shaft, causing uneven forces to be applied during operation, resulting in deformation. For example, after long-term use of the bearing, the rolling element is worn or the cage is damaged and the output shaft cannot be supported normally, which may cause deformation of the shaft.

  • SelectionImproper : If the selected reducer has insufficient rated output torque, when the equipment is operating normally or encounters some additional load, the reducer output shaft will bear forces exceeding its design capabilities, which can easily lead to deformation.

  • Poor lubrication : Poor quality of lubricating oil, insufficient oil volume or lubrication system failure will increase friction between the output shaft and other components, generating a large amount of heat, which will affect the material performance of the shaft and make it easier to deform.

  • Gear wear : The gears of the reducer are prone to wear during long-term use, especially under high loads and frequent start and stops. After the gear wears, it will cause unstable transmission, causing uneven force to the output bearing, which may cause deformation of the shaft.
