Maintenance points of WD120-23.5-1 Worm gear reducer
Publish Time: 2025-09-02 Origin: Site
WD120‑23.5‑1 is a single-stage worm gear reducer with a worm lower position, a center distance of 120 mm, and a nominal speed ratio of about 23.5. It is suitable for situations where large speed ratios, stable transmission and possible reverse self-locking; however, friction heating and centralization requirements are high, and strict lubrication and temperature rise management are required.
Maintenance points (execute immediately)
Installation and alignment
Horizontal/firm installation, elastic coupling for input and toothed coupling for output, hammering and disassembly; the centering error of the whole machine ≤ the allowable compensation amount of the coupling.
After installation, the manual wheel is flexible; no load is 1-3 hours, part load is intermittently operated and then full load, and the temperature rise and noise are monitored during the period.
Lubrication and oil change
Change the oil for the first time at 300–500 hours; then continuously run every 2000–3000 hours or 6 months, ≤10 hours/day every 4000 hours or 12 months; change the oil with the same brand and clean it and then add new oil.
Check the oil level to 2/3 of the oil window when the shutdown state is completed; give priority to the special oil for extreme pressure worm gear and worm gear, low temperature or high/heavy load, and follow the manual to increase viscosity or use synthetic oil instead.
Operation monitoring
Temperature rise ≤60 K, oil temperature ≤85–100℃; abnormal temperature rise/abnormal noise/vibration/leakage will be stopped immediately for inspection.
Ambient temperature > 40°C or continuous full load, strengthen ventilation/air-cooling or forced lubrication.
Periodic check
Week/month: Appearance, oil level/oil quality, bolts, leakage.
Quarter: Vibration/temperature trend, noise, oil sample detection if necessary (viscosity, acid value, moisture, iron spectrum).
Half a year/year: Remove and inspect the seal, bearing, meshing gap and contact spots; replace the wear parts and run and load them.
Environment and working conditions
Dust-heat/corrosive environment, strengthen protection and sealing, and shorten the oil change and inspection cycle.
Preheat or heat tracing before starting at low temperature to avoid poor lubrication of high viscosity oil.
