WBE128-LD-187 micro cycloidal reducer output shaft movement solution, details are as follows:
1. Safety preparation for shutdown
Immediately cut off the power supply and wait until the reducer completely stops and the temperature drops to room temperature. Clean the surface and surrounding debris of the reducer, and mark the assembly of each component to prevent misalignment. Prepare tools: wrench, screwdriver, dial indicator, feeler gauge, new bearing/retaining ring/seal ring, thread glue, lithium-based grease.
2. Detect the amount of movement and locate the root cause of the fault
2.1 Use a dial indicator to attach to the reducer housing, place the probe at the center of the end face of the output shaft, manually push and pull the output shaft along the axial direction, and record the movement value; the normal axial movement of this type of reducer should be ≤0.15mm, if it exceeds it, it will be judged as a fault.
2.2 Locating the root cause of the fault:
If the movement is accompanied by shaking of the shaft end, it is most likely that the output shaft bearing is damaged, the bearing clearance is too large, or the bearing seat is worn.
If there is no shaking but the stroke is large, it is mostly due to the failure of the axial positioning parts of the output shaft (such as broken retaining rings, falling positioning pins, loose gland bolts).
If the shaft shoulder is found to be worn after disassembly, the shaft body is damaged due to long-term movement, and the output shaft needs to be repaired or replaced.
3. Targeted troubleshooting steps
3.1 Tighten the axial positioning components (priority processing)
Remove the output shaft end gland, check whether the gland bolts are loose, and tighten diagonally with a torque wrench according to the torque specified in the instruction manual (generally 6-10N·m); if the gland sealing gasket is aged, replace it with a new one and apply a thin layer of sealant.
Check whether the elastic retaining ring for the shaft is deformed or broken. If it fails, immediately replace the retaining ring of the same specification and ensure that the retaining ring is completely stuck in the slot on the shaft; check whether the positioning pin has fallen off. If it falls off, reinstall it and apply thread glue to prevent it from loosening.
3.2 Replace the output shaft bearing
If the bearing clearance exceeds the standard or the balls and raceways have pitting or ablation marks, disassemble the end cover and bearing seat, and use a hydraulic press or puller to smoothly take out the old bearing; clean the oil dirt and impurities in the bearing seat, and check whether the bearing seat is worn (wear >0.05mm needs to be repaired or replaced).
Select a bearing consistent with the original specifications (6204 or 6205 deep groove ball bearings are commonly used for this model), apply lithium-based grease on the inner ring of the bearing, and use a press tool to slowly press into the bearing seat along the inner ring of the bearing. Do not knock the outer ring of the bearing.
After installing the bearing, re-measure the axial movement to ensure that the value is ≤0.15mm.
3.3 Repair or replace the output shaft
If the output shaft shoulder is worn and the slot is deformed, minor wear can be repaired by grinding after surfacing welding; if the wear is serious, replace the original output shaft directly to avoid further movement due to shaft defects.
When assembling the output shaft, ensure that the matching clearance between the keyway on the shaft and the coupling key is ≤0.08mm. If the clearance is too large, replace the flat key.
3.4 Check the internal transmission components of the reducer
Disassemble the reducer and check whether the cycloidal wheel and pin tooth sleeve are worn and loose, and whether the matching gap between the pin and the pin sleeve exceeds 0.2mm. If the internal parts are loose, it will aggravate the uneven stress on the output shaft and cause movement. The damaged parts need to be replaced.
When assembling, ensure that the cycloidal wheel and the pin gear shell mesh evenly, the eccentric sleeve is installed in the correct direction, tighten all bolts and apply thread glue to prevent loosening.
