SCWS250 - 51 belongs to the SCWS series of shaft-mounted arc cylindrical worm reducers, with a transmission ratio of 51 and a center distance of 250mm. The noise change when the load changes does not have a clear calibration value from the manufacturer. However, based on the structural characteristics of this series of reducers, the rules of similar equipment in the industry, and general standards, the following ranges and corresponding characteristics can be sorted out:
No-load to rated load stage
During no-load operation, there is no output torque load, and the noise is mainly the slight meshing sound of the worm gear and the running sound of the bearings. The noise at this stage is usually 60-65dB(A), which is similar to the sound of normal indoor conversation. As the load gradually increases to the rated load, the meshing surface pressure increases gently, and the noise will slowly rise. When the rated load is reached, the noise is generally stable at 70-80dB(A). At this stage, the noise changes slowly, with an overall fluctuation range of about 10-15dB(A), and the noise is mainly a steady low-frequency roar without sharp noise.
Rated load to short-term overload stage
If the load exceeds the rated value but does not exceed 110% (short-term allowable range), the tooth surface contact stress will increase significantly and the noise will further increase, possibly reaching a maximum of 80-85dB(A). At this stage, the noise increase is about 5-10dB(A) compared with the rated load. However, this load state is only suitable for short-term operation. If it is operated under this condition for a long time, the noise will continue to be at a high level, and the vibration of the box may also increase. When the load exceeds the rated value by more than 15% (serious overloading), the noise will surge sharply, possibly exceeding 85dB(A), and abnormal noises such as metal friction and impact will occur. This situation is not within the scope of normal noise changes and will also accelerate parts wear.
In addition, the rotation speed of the worm shaft of this series of reducers does not exceed 1500r/min. If the influence of rotation speed is superimposed during measurement, the 'noise difference of the load change at the same rotation speed' must be used as the standard. At the same time, environmental noise interference needs to be avoided during measurement. It is recommended to measure with an A-weighted decibel meter 1m away from the shell and flush with the axis center to ensure accurate data.
