Reducer transmission principle:


Gear transmission - mainly relies on the tooth profile of the driving gear to advance the tooth profile of the driven gear to complete the transmission.


Worm gear reducer - mainly relies on the sliding friction of the tooth surface when the active worm gear meshes, so that the worm gear tooth surface generates relative motion to complete the transmission.


Gear transmission defects:


Gears, box body processing equipment, gear processing and grinding technology, assembly technology, etc. are more stringent, resulting in high manufacturing costs. Gear transmission has no overload protection, does not have self-locking performance, and additional brake devices are required, and the noise is relatively high. Large, single-stage gear transmission ratio is small (generally no more than 1:7), etc.The gear meshing clearance is small and so on.

Advantages of gear transmission:


The reducer box can transmit the movement and power between any shafts in the space, that is, the shafts can be parallel, interspersed or intertwined; the rotation is stable, its transmission range is large, and it can be designed with multi-stage gear transmission, with wide application range, long service life and high efficiency (90% ~99%), the cabinet is mainly made of cast iron, with beautiful appearance and compact structure.Under normal conditions, the working environment temperature is -10°C to 40°C. Compared with similar products, this product has the characteristics of large speed range, compact structure, and convenient installation.It can be widely used in the deceleration mechanism of various mechanical equipment such as metallurgy, mining, lifting, light industry, chemical industry, transportation, construction, etc.


Advantages of worm drive:


A single-stage reducer can obtain a large transmission ratio (generally 5~100), compact structure, stable transmission, low noise, and a large speed ratio can realize self-locking performance, etc.Small single-stage + large single-stage reducer are used in conjunction, which can increase the overall speed ratio and increase the torque.The application range can be further increased, and the manufacturing cost is relatively low.


Worm drive defects:


The transmission meshing efficiency is relatively low, and the larger the speed ratio, the lower the efficiency.Only orthogonal and vertical output methods, certain restrictions on the application site, worm gear cast copper material process is complicated, and the production cost of small batches is high.


The helical gear reducer cannot be self-locking, that is to say, the driven can be changed to the active, and the active can be changed to the driven; while the worm gear reducer can be self-locked, only the worm is active, the worm wheel is driven, and it is irreversible.Moreover, the former allows long-term operation, while the latter does not allow long-term operation.The former has higher transmission efficiency, while the latter has lower transmission efficiency, which means that the former generates less heat, while the latter generates more heat, requiring more smoothness.
