When adjusting the oil level and selecting lubricating oil of the ZDY gear reducer, the following specifications need to be strictly followed to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the equipment:
1. Model and specification requirements of lubricating oil
1. Preferred basis: Equipment technical manual
The most accurate oil model should be based on the nameplate of your reducer or the accompanying technical manual. Reducers of different specifications (such as ZDY355, ZDY400, etc.) may have different recommended oil viscosity.
2. General oil types
If there is no manual, it is usually recommended to use medium-load or heavy-duty industrial closed gear oil (such as L-CKC or L-CKD) that meets national standards for ZDY series hard-tooth surface reducers.
3. Viscosity grade selection
The selection of viscosity grade mainly depends on the ambient temperature and load conditions. It is recommended to refer to the following standards:
(1) Conventional/summer high temperature (20℃~40℃ and above): It is recommended to use ISO VG 320 or ISO VG 460 viscosity grade gear oil to ensure sufficient oil film strength at high temperatures.
(2) Low temperature in winter (-10℃~20℃): If it is in winter or in a low temperature environment, ISO VG 150 or ISO VG 220 can be selected to ensure fluidity during low temperature startup.
(3) Load conditions: If the reducer is under heavy load or impact load conditions for a long time, priority should be given to heavy-duty gear oil with higher viscosity and better extreme pressure and anti-wear properties (such as L-CKD series).
2. Operating specifications for adjusting oil level
1. Shutdown and safety inspection
Before checking or adjusting the oil level, the power supply must be cut off to prevent accidental electric shock or starting. Wait for the reducer to cool down until there is no danger of burning, but remain warm (the oil has better fluidity at this time, making it easier to check and refill).
2. Standard oil level height
The standard oil level of ZDY reducer is usually between 1/2 and 2/3 of the height of the oil mirror (sight glass).
Oil level is too low: It will lead to insufficient lubrication of gears and increase wear.
Oil level is too high: It will cause excessive oil stirring resistance, increase power loss, and even cause the oil temperature to be too high or the oil to overflow from the seal.
3. Precautions for oil replenishment and oil change
Mixing is strictly prohibited: Lubricants of the same brand, model, and viscosity must be used. Mixing different brands or types of oil (such as mineral oil and synthetic oil) will destroy the oil film structure and lead to lubrication failure.
Slow filling: When replenishing oil, you should use a refilling can with a filter to slowly inject. After each injection of a certain amount, pause and wait for the oil level to stabilize before observing to prevent misjudgment due to oil level fluctuations.
Clean the oil filling port: Before unscrewing the oil filling plug, be sure to wipe away the dust and impurities around the oil filling port to prevent foreign matter from entering the fuel tank.
Kind tips:
If the reducer has been running continuously for a long time (such as more than 2000~5000 hours), or if the oil is found to be black, turbid, or contains metal debris, simply replenishing oil cannot solve the problem. It is recommended to completely drain the old oil and clean the box before injecting new qualified lubricating oil.
