The power input end of the B13-43-5.5KW cycloidal pinwheel reducer is usually equipped with a three-phase asynchronous motor (5.5KW is commonly 380V three-phase, and a few are customized for 220V single-phase, which must be subject to the motor nameplate). The power connection must comply with electrical safety regulations and motor wiring requirements. The specific steps are as follows:
1. Preparation before connection
1. Confirm that the parameters match
Check the motor nameplate: focus on confirming the rated voltage (such as 380V/50Hz), rated current, and wiring method (△-shaped or Y-shaped). 5.5KW motors mostly have △-shaped wiring, which must be consistent with the power supply voltage.
Check the power supply line: it needs to be equipped with a circuit breaker that matches the motor (16–20A recommended), a thermal overload relay (the setting current is set at 1.1 times the rated current of the motor), and a contactor. The line path should be no less than 2.5mm² copper core wire to ensure load-bearing capacity.
2. Preparation of tools and materials
Tools: screwdriver (cross/slotted), wire strippers, crimping pliers, multimeter, insulating tape, torque wrench.
Materials: Cables of matching specifications, terminal blocks, heat shrink tube (optional), identification plate.
3. Safety protection measures
Make sure the power supply line is disconnected and tagged, and use a multimeter to retest the voltage before operating to avoid electric shock.
Wear insulating gloves and keep the working area dry to prevent cables from getting wet and short-circuiting.
2. Specific wiring steps
1. Motor junction box processing
Open the cover of the terminal box of the motor supporting the reducer, clean the dust and impurities in the box, and confirm the terminal marks (U, V, W three-phase incoming terminals, the ground terminal is marked PE or ⚡).
If the motor wiring mode is △/Y switching, you need to confirm the position of the connecting piece according to the nameplate requirements: 5.5KW 380V motors are generally △-shaped, and the connecting piece needs to connect the three terminals horizontally in pairs.
2. Cable connection
Peel off the outer insulation of the cable (about 5-8cm in length), then peel off the core insulation of the three phase wires (about 1cm in length), insert the core wires into the terminals and press them tightly to avoid exposing the core wires.
According to the principle of phase sequence correspondence, connect the three-phase power cords to the U, V, and W terminals of the motor respectively. Use a screwdriver to tighten the terminal bolts with moderate torque (to prevent slip wires or poor contact). Arrange excess cables into arcs to avoid pulling on the terminals.
3. Ground protection connection
The motor grounding terminal (PE) must be reliably connected to the grounding wire. The grounding wire should be yellow and green. The wire diameter should not be less than 1/2 of the phase wire. The grounding resistance should be ≤4Ω to prevent equipment leakage from causing safety accidents.
4. Line retest
Use the resistance setting of a multimeter to measure the resistance of the three-phase windings. The resistance values of the three groups should be basically the same, with no open circuit or short circuit. Measure the insulation resistance between the phase wire and the ground wire. The resistance value needs to be ≥1MΩ (use a megger to measure more accurately).
Check that there is no debris left in the junction box, cover the cover and tighten the fixing bolts, and mark the wiring phase sequence.
3. Power-on test operation inspection
1. No-load test operation
Dismantle the connection between the reducer and the load, close the circuit breaker, jog the motor (power off after 1-2 seconds of power on), and observe whether the motor's rotation is consistent with the direction marked on the reducer's nameplate.
If the direction is reversed, the phase sequence can be corrected by exchanging the wiring of any two-phase power cords.
2. Trial operation with load
After confirming that the steering is correct, connect the reducer to the load, power on again, and monitor whether the motor current is within the rated range. The reducer operates without abnormal noise or vibration.
After running for 5-10 minutes, check whether the junction box and cables are hot. If overheating occurs, cut off the power immediately to check for poor contact or overload.
