Here are some heat treatment processes that can reduce the noise of the DFY630 gear reducer:
  • Normalization treatment : The tooth blank is roughly processed into fine forgings and normalized. The purpose is to soften the steel parts for cutting, eliminate residual stress, refine grains, improve the tissue to improve the mechanical properties of the steel, and prepare tissue for the final heat treatment. During normalization treatment, the furnace temperature must be kept uniform, and station equipment should be used to heat and cool the workpieces evenly. It is strictly forbidden to stack them together.

  • Tempering and tempering : This is also a commonly used preparatory heat treatment process, which can obtain good comprehensive mechanical properties, make the gear core part have sufficient toughness, and at the same time eliminate residual stress, reduce the deformation of the gear during subsequent processing and use, which helps reduce noise.


  • High-frequency quenching of the tooth surface : The final heat treatment of the gear can be carried out by high-frequency quenching of the tooth surface. This process can make the tooth surface have high strength, hardness, wear resistance and fatigue limits, while the core still maintains sufficient plasticity and toughness. To reduce deformation, the high-frequency quenching of the tooth surface should adopt a lower quenching temperature and a shorter heating time, and should be heated evenly and cooled slowly.

  • Carburizing and quenching : Appropriately reduce the carburizing temperature and quenching temperature, increase the quenching oil temperature, and appropriately increase the carburizing and carbonization potential, which can prevent the generation of black tissue, obtain a uniform carburizing layer, improve the microstructure of the carburizing layer after carburizing and quenching, and obtain the best metallographic structure, so as to significantly improve the gear surface hardness, wear resistance and fatigue resistance, reduce deformation, and improve the gear transmission balance, thereby reducing noise.

  • Soft nitriding treatment : Some gear parts with high frequency quenching and cyanation treatment can be replaced by soft nitriding process to obtain high hardness values and thicker white bright layers, which helps reduce noise. At the same time, the soft nitriding treatment temperature is relatively low and the deformation is small.


  • Isothermal annealing treatment : After heating at 930℃, the forging of gear parts is subject to insulation treatment. When the temperature of the gear parts drops to 650℃, isothermal annealing treatment can be carried out to ensure that the gear heat treatment deformation is within a reasonable range and avoid noise caused by the reduction of gear accuracy due to excessive thermal deformation.
