Here are some common installation errors that affect the normal operation of the NGW42-35.5-7.5KW planet reducer:


  • Coaxiality difference : When the motor and reducer coupling have too large centering deviation, the radial deviation is > 0.1mm or the angle deviation is > 0.05mm, it will cause the input bearing to be subjected to additional bending moment. In addition, if special tooling is not used during installation, knocking the bearing will cause loose fit between the inner ring and the shaft journal, and the interference amount is less than <0.003mm, which will cause minor wear. These situations may affect the normal operation of the reducer, resulting in 'false Brinell indentation' on the outer ring raceway of the bearing and uneven wear of the gear along the tooth width direction.

  • Improper adjustment of meshing clearance : The gear meshing gap is too small, and the teeth surface will be adhered and worn due to compression under load; the side gap is too large, and impact load will be generated during startup or reversing, causing the teeth surface to peel off. Data show that for every 0.02mm reduction in side gap, the contact stress on the tooth surface increases by 15%, and the wear life is shortened by 50%.

  • Uneven base : If the planarity error of the base exceeds 0.05mm/m, it will cause stress concentration, causing premature damage to the bearing, affecting the service life and normal operation of the reducer.


  • Improper tightening of bolts : The diagonal gradual tightening method is not used, or the rated torque value is not reached in three times, which may lead to uneven tightening force of bolts, which may easily cause looseness during operation, affecting the stability of the reducer. In addition, not retightening after 24 hours of operation may also cause the bolt to loosen after running for a period of time.

  • Inappropriate installation position : If the reducer is installed on an uneven or unsolid foundation, or the support is uneven, the reducer may be subjected to vibration and impact during operation, causing problems such as shaking left and right, which will affect its normal operation.

  • Violent installation : Forced hitting the coupling with an iron hammer may cause the planetary carrier to deform, causing abnormal gear meshing, seriously affecting the transmission performance of the reducer.

  • Improper installation of coupling : The coupling is not heated (assembled after heating to 80-120℃), but is directly installed, which may cause damage to the coupling and internal components of the reducer and affect operation.
