To prevent the P series planetary reducer from leaking again, it is necessary to start from four aspects: 'sealing protection, installation accuracy, lubrication management, and daily maintenance' to form a full-process control to avoid leakage caused by seal failure or abnormal pressure.
Select suitable seals. The output shaft end should preferably use a double-lip skeleton oil seal (with a dust-proof lip). The joint surface of the box should be oil-resistant sealant (such as silicone or polysulfide) to avoid the use of aging or inconsistent-sized seals.
When installing the seal, make sure there are no burrs or rust on the shaft surface, apply grease to the lip of the oil seal to avoid deformation during press installation, clean the joint surface of the box, apply sealant evenly and tighten the bolts symmetrically.
For parts with frequent oil leakage, auxiliary sealing devices can be installed, such as adding an oil slinging ring at the shaft end, adding an anti-leakage groove on the joint surface of the box, or installing a sealing ring at the output shaft sleeve.
Ensure that the installation surface of the reducer is flat and the base is fastened firmly to avoid vibrations during operation that may cause box deformation and loose joint surfaces.
Calibrate the coaxiality between the input shaft and the motor, and the output shaft and the load equipment. Control the deviation within the range specified by the manufacturer (usually ≤0.2mm) to prevent the seal from being pulled by eccentric load.
During installation, avoid knocking the sealing parts. The bearings should be assembled in place and the clearance should be reasonable to prevent excessive movement of the shaft system from damaging the oil seal.
Select lubricating oil that is suitable for the reducer (such as ISO VG220 or VG320 gear oil). The amount of oil should be added strictly according to the oil mark. It should not exceed the maximum oil level to prevent oil from overflowing when the oil temperature rises.
Replace the lubricating oil regularly, first after the new machine has been running for 500 hours, and then every 2000-3000 hours to avoid corrosion of the seals after the oil deteriorates.
When refueling, filter the oil to prevent impurities from mixing into the sealing lip; avoid long-term overload and high-temperature operation of the reducer; install a heat dissipation device if necessary to reduce the internal pressure.
Clean the surface of the reducer regularly, check the shaft end, box joint surface, oil mark, oil drain plug and other parts for signs of leakage, and deal with minor leaks in a timely manner.
Check the status of the seal every 1,000 hours of operation. If there is hardening, deformation, or lip wear, replace it immediately to avoid expanding the problem.
Record data related to oil leakage (such as leakage point, ambient temperature, load conditions). If oil leakage occurs repeatedly in the same part, check whether there are box casting defects or shaft surface wear, and repair if necessary.
