Gearbox is a device to change the speed ratio and movement direction. It is used for automobiles, tractors, ships, machine tools and various machines to change the torque, speed and movement direction transmitted from the driving shaft to the driven shaft according to different working conditions.
The functions of automobile transmission are as follows:
1. Change the transmission ratio, expand the variation range of the torque and speed of the driving wheel to adapt to the constantly changing driving conditions, and make the engine work under the working conditions of high power and low fuel consumption;
2. Under the condition that the rotation direction of the engine remains unchanged, the vehicle can be driven backwards;
3. Use neutral gear to interrupt power transmission, so that the engine can start, change speed, and facilitate transmission shift or power output.
4. The transmission is composed of a variable speed transmission mechanism and a control mechanism. When necessary, a power take-off can be added.
The automobile gearbox can be divided into manual and automatic.
The manual transmission is mainly composed of gears and shafts, which produce variable speed and torque through different gear combinations;
Automatic transmission at is composed of hydraulic torque converter, planetary gear and hydraulic control system. It can change speed and torque through hydraulic transmission and gear combination.
Automatic transmission has become the mainstream in the world, mainly including at (automatic), AMT (manual automatic integration), CVT (stepless speed change) and DCT (double clutch) and other types.
